I would guess that you would want +energy. +armor doesn't really help for armor ignoring damage, + life only gives you like what 30hp? Why bother when if your going to die you'll die. Atleast with +energy you could have a spare amount of energy for that life saving skill, or farming with it.

You can get blank FoW armor and put the insignia you want on it: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Eternal_Forgemaster

Health armor is one of the best for a monk.

Get blank inscribable, whatever you do. You are then free to choose and change the stats. Don't buy the outdated fixed-stats stuff, whatever you do.

if your going for looks i think that 15k prime looks a hell of a lot better than FOW armour. Plus monks with FOW armour are way to common nowerdays anway

agree with the alst 2 there :P, shame i got my fow 4 days b4 they changed it to inscriptable, id go blank then add more armor, armor is a type of energy maintainmnet, u take less damage so need less healing, where as more energy/more health means u still take the same dam so ur need to hea for the same amount, meaning more energy wasted

Blank one with insignia and slap it with +health insignias. You can always weapon swap for extra energy.

Statwise, I use +energy but I do agree that +health is the way to go. I'm just a hypocrit like that.

edit: forgot he said he's getting fow. If that's the case then definetly get inscribable.

Yea, inscribable for FoW. I personally prefer +HP, as we don't have a +AL constant, and I don't really care about +AL vs Ele. +Energy isn't very useful, so i'll pass on that entirely. +AL While Enchanted is useful, but I wouldn't run it on a primary set.

i remember back in the day when i was too new to know the value of any armor type other than aesetics. bought myself some (+energy) obsidian and later realized it was my worst mistake i made in gw.

among my list of personally preferred are:
+hp
+AL while enchant (as i like to run Healer's Boon when i pve so im always under enchant).

but why does +e suck?
theres this wonderful thing called energy management - instead of having additional energy, you can use skills to make the energy you already have last longer! or did that fall out of the metagame?

I dont usually see the need to run +HP, since I never run majors or sups. I personally think I've derived a greater benefit with +10 while enchanted on head, chest, and legs and +energy on hands and feet. 70 AL seems to do more to keep me alive (in most cases) than having an extra bit of HP.

To be honest none of the sets for Monks are all too useful, the only inherent set thats even remotely useful for 90% of realistic builds is +AL While Enchanted, and even then i'm not enchanted enough to make the bonus worthwhile as a primary set.

+Energy isn't useful, simply because with proper precautions and avoidance of over healing one can run with a low pool of energy from with which to draw from. Hell i've been using 30e for the longest and I wouldn't dare call myself better than most average level Monks.

+HP can be useful for anti-spike and for in PvE, where monsters seem to congregate on lower HP targets. I would love to have sets with more useful mods, but atleast for the moment we're stuck with what we have.

Do you guys know how well Wanderer's Armor would do in normal PvE? I have a 15k Wanderer's set collecting dust in my storage that I bought a while ago because I thought it looked really nice. I feel bad not using it though..

(Wanderer's = +10 Armor against Elemental Damage)

It's one of the top PvE choices because you can usually shutdown or avoid physical damage, but you can't exactly kite an elementalist - well - excluding projectiles.

It is a fine armour nothing wrong with it works very well against elemental damage. When the Mo/N BoonProtect were around I saw a lot of them wearing Wanderers and one of Evils wearing 15K.

This is one of the best arguments to buy survivor insigs, I notice this as well, and there have been many a report on it. Besides that, u can sustain some death penalty without becoming too vulnerable, typically i run 600 to 640 health. Same story on sups, just don't use em, they are hardly worth it.

+health for your main set. it's generally the best for both pve and pvp.

then you can have other sets like +armor while ench or +armor vs elemental for other purposes.

+hp is the best, because it's the only mod you can entirely count on to be there all the time.

+energy is a waste of time. i routinely monk with only 25, and it's no problem at all. monk skills are low costing and are constantly spammed, so much of the energy issue can be solved by playing smart and natural regen. having an extra buffer certainly doesn't hurt, but it's not needed. after all, you can easily get a +25energy -2regen emergency set if you absolutely need more energy.
